Devotion for April 12, 2025
Dear friends, the Bible tells us that Jacob called his two wives, Rachel and Leah, to the field where his flocks were. Why? Because Jacob wanted to return to his homeland, and he needed to share something important with them. The flocks he had were not just wealth or provision—they were living evidence that God was with him.
Jacob didn’t have any solid proof to show that God had spoken to him or commanded him to return home. The only way he could convince his family was by showing them the results of God's blessings in his life. That’s why he said, “Come to the field where the flocks are.” In other words, “Come see what God has done.”
This passage reveals a vital principle: if a believer's life lacks visible evidence of God’s power and presence, it becomes harder to explain faith to others. If there's no testimony, no transformation, no fruit, then people won’t be able to understand or believe that God is truly working in and through you.
When Jacob shared with his wives what the Lord had done, he did so in the middle of his blessings. That setting gave credibility to his words. If you are a believer and desire to lead others to know God, your life must reflect the presence and power of God. Not just inward experiences, but outward evidence—proof that others can see.
I’m not talking about the personal confirmations that the Holy Spirit gives you. Those are important for you. But the world needs visible, undeniable evidence. They need something they can see—proof that points upward to the hand of God.
Prayer for April 12, 2025
Almighty God,
Thank You for this Word. I ask You today—give me physical, visible blessings so that I may stand in the midst of them and tell others about You. Let my life be a testimony that reveals Your presence to my family, my city, and beyond. Use me, Lord, so that others may see You in me and come to know You.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
