Today's Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:17

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

This verse is not poetry. It is a divine decree. When Christ enters a life, death flees. Chains shatter. Shadows dissolve. The Creator who spoke galaxies into being now speaks over you: "Behold—new!" The old life, with its scars and stains, is buried. You are no longer defined by what you were, but by who He is.

Some of you still carry the weight of yesterday’s failures. You whisper, "But I’m the same person." No! A forgiven murderer becomes an apostle. A adulterer becomes a psalmist. A persecutor becomes a preacher. Christ does not reform; He resurrects. What surgeon merely bandages a corpse? God breathes life into dry bones (Ezekiel 37:5). You are not "improved"—you are recreated.

The enemy will taunt you with echoes of the past. He will point to your stumbles and sneer, "See? Nothing changed." Do not listen. When a caterpillar becomes a butterfly, does it crawl again? It flies—because its nature is transformed. Your nature is now Christ’s (2 Peter 1:4). Those old habits, fears, and labels? They died with Him on the cross. Walk in the resurrection.

This is not about trying harder—it’s about surrendering deeper. Paul said, "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me" (Galatians 2:20). Let Him live through you. When temptation rises, declare: "I am new." When shame whispers, shout: "I am His." The world waits to see the miracle of a life made whole. Will you let your transformation testify?

Today's Prayer

Father of new beginnings, we stand in awe of Your power to resurrect dead things. Today, we renounce every lie that says we are prisoners of our past. By the blood of Jesus, we declare: Old things have passed away. We are reborn—unstained, unshackled, alive in Christ!

Holy Spirit, burn away every remnant of the old self. Where fear once ruled, let faith arise. Where addiction bound, let freedom roar. Clothe us in the righteousness of Christ until we radiate His glory. Help us walk as living proof that Your Word transforms hearts, homes, and nations.

We reject every label the world has given us. We are no longer "broken," "unworthy," or "defeated." We are Your masterpiece—created anew for good works (Ephesians 2:10). Teach us to live as citizens of heaven, ambassadors of this radical grace. May our lives declare: Behold, the new has come! In Jesus’ conquering name, Amen.
