Today's Verse: Bible Verse: Hebrews 11:1

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."

Thoughts on Today Verse...

Faith can feel like stepping into a fog—trusting there’s solid ground beneath your feet even when you can’t see it. Hebrews 11:1 invites us into this beautiful mystery: believing in God’s promises when life offers no guarantees. It’s not blind optimism or wishful thinking; it’s a quiet confidence rooted in who God is, not just what we can prove.

Some days, that confidence comes easily—when prayers are answered, when joy overflows. But what about the mornings when the bills pile up, the doctor’s news stings, or the silence from heaven feels deafening? That’s when faith becomes a choice—a decision to trust that God’s goodness is still at work, even in the shadows.

Scripture reminds us we’re not alone in this. Abraham packed up his life for a land he’d never seen (Hebrews 11:8). Moses led a nation through a parted sea with no map in hand (Exodus 14:21-22). They didn’t have all the answers, but they had God’s voice—and that was enough. What might it look like for you to take a small step forward today, leaning on His unseen hand?

This kind of faith isn’t static; it grows through the wrestle. It’s okay to ask hard questions or admit when you’re unsure. The beauty of Hebrews 11:1 is that it meets us where we are, offering assurance not in our strength, but in God’s unchanging character.

Today Prayer

Father, You see every corner of my heart—the hopes I cling to and the fears that creep in. Thank You for being the God who holds what I cannot see, who anchors me when the way feels uncertain. Teach me to trust You more, Lord, not because life makes sense, but because You are faithful.

Strengthen my faith today, even if it’s just enough for this moment. Let Your promises be my confidence, Your presence my assurance. For every step I take in the fog, remind me that You go before me, and Your love never fails. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
