Devotion for July 5, 2024
My dear brothers and sisters, what powerful words our Lord Jesus spoke! He didn't say He knew the way, or that He could show us the way. No, He declared, "I am the way." This wasn't just a statement; it was a divine proclamation of His very essence.
In our world today, we're bombarded with countless paths promising fulfillment, success, and purpose. But Jesus cuts through all the noise and confusion. He stands before us, arms wide open, saying, "I am the way."
Think about your life right now. Are you feeling lost? Confused about which direction to take? Jesus is saying to you, "Look to me. Follow me. I am your way."
But He doesn't stop there. Jesus also says He is the truth. In a world full of lies and half-truths, where even our own hearts can deceive us, Jesus stands as the unchanging, absolute truth. When doubts creep in, when you're not sure what to believe, remember - Jesus is your truth.
And finally, Jesus declares He is the life. Not just any life, but abundant life, eternal life. The kind of life that fills your soul and overflows to others. Are you feeling drained, empty, or purposeless? Jesus is your life!
Now, pay close attention to the last part of the verse: "No one comes to the Father except through me." This is not meant to exclude, but to invite. Jesus is extending His hand to you right now, saying, "Let me lead you to the Father. Let me bring you home."
Today, I challenge you to make Jesus your way, your truth, and your life. In every decision, ask, "What would Jesus do?" In every question, seek His truth in Scripture. In every moment, draw life from His presence. Let's walk with Him, not just today, but every day.
Prayer for July 5, 2024
Heavenly Father, we come to You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Way, our Truth, and our Life. Lord, we thank You for sending Your Son to be our perfect path to You. We confess that sometimes we stray, looking for other ways, other truths, other sources of life. Forgive us, Father.
Jesus, we choose You today as our Way. Guide our steps, direct our paths. We choose You as our Truth. Let Your Word be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). We choose You as our Life. Fill us with Your Spirit, that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10).
Father, we pray for those who are lost, confused, or seeking. Draw them to Your Son. For Your Word says, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them" (John 6:44). Use us, Lord, to show others the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
